The second single, " Get It On", went to #22 in the United Kingdom and #9 in the United States, while competing against the Duran Duran single " A View to a Kill", which was an American number one. The first, "Some Like It Hot", reached #14 on the UK Singles Chart and #6 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Three singles were released from the album, two of them major hits. Robert Palmer sang on the first album, after which he was replaced by Michael Des Barres for the Live Aid concert, rejoining the band in 1995. The album's cover graphics and color scheme, which were also used in the videos, were based on sketches by John Taylor. Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer and for a short time also functioned as The Power Station's manager. It was made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar).
